Jubilant graduates from a recent class of the Holm Center’s Officer Training School at Maxwell throw their caps into the air, a tradition on finishing OTS.

Today OTS begins a three-day celebration of its 50th anniversary. At 4 p.m. today, there is a retreat ceremony at OTS remembering alumni who were killed or missing in action.

There is a 5K run Saturday, 7 a.m., starting at OTS. The run is open to any military ID card holder along with their dependents and guests. After the run, there are staff-guided tours of OTS. A golf tournament is also scheduled Saturday, 8 a.m., at the Maxwell courses.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton A. Schwartz is the featured speaker at a formal dinner Saturday evening at the Montgomery Embassy Suites Hotel.

The celebration concludes Sunday morning with a dedication of Building 1491, the Commissioned Officer Training dormitory.
