    Running builds esprit de corps, fitness

    The Air Force was well represented at the Birmingham Mercedes Marathon this past weekend. About 40 members of the 34th Student Squadron from Squadron Officer School at Maxwell participated in the marathon and half marathon to promote health and fitness awareness.

    Luncheon honors powerhouse legacy

    Maxwell-Gunter kicked off National African American History Month last week with a heritage luncheon, and the planning committee has events lined up throughout February to honor those who made a difference.

    Most people are not aware of a warehouse on Gunter with its own zip code, according to Maj. James Young, commandant of the Air Force Career Development Academy.

    The chief of staff reading list has been updated this year to provide Airmen a guide to further their education and expertise. This year the list includes several TED talks, including “The Strange Tale of the Norden Bombsight,” by Malcolm Gladwell, a Canadian journalist, author and speaker.
